ABOUT US

A library is not just community storage for books: It is a living, growing organization devoted to learning, teaching, and personal growth. The Mercer Area Library is staffed by people who have partnered together to help your local community grow.

Since its origin in 1915, the Mercer Area Library has continued to expand its facilities and services to the community. The ‘front’ section of the building was completed in 1970, and the ‘new’ addition housing the children’s books and reading area was finished in 1982.  In 2009, the library expanded with an addition and remodeling project that doubled the existing space. We are excited to expand our collection, and offer more public computers and also free Wi-Fi access!  Our library is both an invaluable resource and a source of considerable pride for all members of the Mercer community. We would like to thank our patrons for their continual support of our library.
